KNOWING JESUS CHRIST MAKING JESUS CHRIST KNOWN!

Our Story
An Open Invitation
Weston United Methodist Church (WUMC) strives to be a place where all people feel seen, welcomed, and invited into community. Whether you are exploring faith, returning after time away, or looking for a church to call home, you are warmly invited to join us.
Inclusive & Engaging Worship
Our Sunday worship at 10:30 AM blends the richness of traditional liturgy with thoughtful and relevant preaching that invites engagement, reflection, and honest questions. We are also committed to expanding accessibility in worship, including offering live Mandarin sermon translation through Sermon Live, helping to remove language barriers and create a more inclusive experience for our diverse community. Children are always welcome in the sanctuary, and a nursery is available for families who prefer it.
Radical Welcome & Diverse Community
WUMC is proud to be a member church of the Reconciling Ministries Network, affirming our commitment to fully welcome ALL people—regardless of age, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, first language, country of origin, immigration status, socioeconomic background, ability, housing situation, or neurodiversity. This spirit of radical hospitality is reflected in the diversity of our congregation, which draws people from Weston, Lincoln, Waltham, Maynard, and surrounding communities. We celebrate diversity in culture, language, life experience, and perspective as a gift that strengthens our shared life of faith, and we are a truly multicultural church where people of all backgrounds are valued and connected.
A Historic and Living Faith Community
Located at 377 North Avenue in Weston, Massachusetts, WUMC has been a place of Methodist worship for more than 200 years. Rooted in a long tradition of faith, WUMC continues to grow as a vibrant, welcoming, and forward-looking congregation committed to sharing God’s love in meaningful and accessible ways.
Music as a Gift to God
Music is an integral part of our worship life, led by the WUMC Choir and others in the congregation who share their gifts through music. Whether through singing, instrumental performance, or special offerings, members joyfully give their talents to God, enriching worship and inviting the whole community into praise. The choir always welcomes new members, whether for one service or on a continuing basis.
Growing in Faith Through Community & Service
Beyond Sunday worship, WUMC offers a variety of ways to connect and serve. From Bible studies and small groups to hands-on mission opportunities—such as preparing monthly meals at a local soup kitchen—and ministries like the Prayer Shawl Ministry, there are many ways to grow in faith and build meaningful relationships.
Our Missions
Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen
For many years, on the second Monday of each month, WUMC provides and serves dinner for 60+ people at the Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen in Waltham.
Whittemore School, Waltham
Members of the WUMC have had the privilege of spending time with folks at the Henry Whittemore Elementary School in Waltham. Our relationship has enabled us to serve in a variety of ways:
- Reading to children at the school
- Preparing snacks for children
- Donating holiday food packs to families
- Providing Christmas gifts through an Angel Tree
Waltham Alliance to Create Housing
(WATCH), operates in the city Waltham and its contiguous communities. They build, preserve and promote affordable housing, provide economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income people, and empower communities and stabilize neighborhoods. They help low income families change society, find a better place to live, and find better employment. They also teach English as a Second Language and train volunteers as tutors to work one-on-one with learners.
