About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Our Story

The Weston United Methodist Church -WUMC- is located at 377 North Avenue in Weston, Massachusetts. A Methodist congregation has worshipped on or near the current church property for more than 200 years.

WUMC is proud to be a member church of the Reconciling Ministries Network, which means we welcome ALL people regardless of age, gender expression, sexual orientation, ethnicity, first language, race, country of origin, immigration or socioeconomic status, ability, housing situation, or neurodiversity.

Although located in Weston, the church congregation comes from all over Weston and the surrounding towns of Lincoln, Waltham, and Maynard as well as a number of other towns in the region. We are a multigenerational church, with members ranging from newborn to nonagenarian.

Our worship service is a mix of traditional worship style with progressive preaching. We encourage asking questions and engaging in the texts in an authentic way.

Worship services are at 10:30 each Sunday. Children are encouraged and welcomed to stay in the sanctuary during worship, though our nursery is available as well. Sunday School takes place on Saturdays at 12pm, where the children enjoy lunch together before the lesson for the day.

Music is an integral part of worship. Special music during each worship service is provided by the WUMC Choir, made up of both professional and volunteer singers.

We seek to make everyone feel welcome. Visitors are welcomed at the door, and have the opportunity to meet the pastor. There are many small group opportunities that encourage participation in the life of the church, including Bible study; serving a monthly meal at a local soup kitchen as well as a Prayer Shawl Ministry.

Whittemore School, Waltham

Members of the WUMC have had the privilege of spending time with folks at the Henry Whittemore Elementary School in Waltham. Our relationship has enabled us to serve in a variety of ways:
- Reading to children at the school
- Preparing snacks for children
- Donating holiday food packs to families
- Providing Christmas gifts through an Angel Tree
